Willow Smith, daughter of power couple Will & Jada, is making her mark on the music industry and is snatching wigs to take with her as souvenirs. Her debut single “Whip My Hair” premiered on the Internet a couple of weeks ago and since has seen huge success, as the nine-year-old has taken radio and Internet by storm. She even attracted the attention of mogul Jay-Z, who has signed her to his Roc Nation label and saying that she is a superstar in the making. The official video for “Whip My Hair” has just made its debut on the Internet hours ago and it is the cutest, flyest video I’ve seen in a while. The concept is creative yet literal and just enough without feeling like she’s forcing it. And, it’s age appropriate which I love. There’s no inappropriate booty shaking or half naked little girls here but what you will find is four minutes of paint splattering, colorful hair, dancing and pint-sized swag on overload. The spot was directed by Ray Kay and will officially be released to television outlets this evening when it premieres on BET’s 106 & Park. The fact that I’m not the only grown woman who is feeling this little girl so much just goes to show you how much star power she already has.
