In the wave of arising artists flaunting natural, untampered talent, Suai (pronounced Sway) Kee emerges as a definite voice to be reckoned with. A native of Detriot, Suai is a musician and multi-instrumentalist with skills on the piano, guitar, cello and flute. Her sound takes kudos from the likes of India.Arie and Lauryn Hill but carries a vibe all its own. She first earned recognition by performing at the unveiling of the restored Rosa Parks Bus at the Henry Ford Theatre in 2003 and since has opened up for Brian McKnight and others in an effort to gain exposure and showcase her raw talent.She has had a major hand in her music as she has written and produced majority of the tracks on her upcoming album due out some time this year. The biggest success for the 23 year old singer to date is having her song “Am I All Alone” featured on the Barack Obama CD, Yes We Can! She’s also made a small screen appearance on the BET reality series, “Baldwin Hills”.
So far, Suai has released the singles; ‘Oh Snap… I Fell in Love’, ‘Special’, ‘Come Out Come Out’ and ‘Stronger’ featuring Akon, which all can be heard on her official website suaionline. She is currently signed to Motown/Universal Records and is on tour opening up for Solange and Estelle.
